Owen

Ontario Goaltender | OHL Draft Pick & NCAA Prospect

Overview

Owen, a talented goaltender from Ontario, entered his first year of U18 hockey playing underage for Northwood School. Having recently been selected in the OHL Draft, he faced a pivotal season that would set the tone for his future — not just in junior hockey, but as a potential NCAA recruit. To support his development, Owen and ATC Prospects partnered for a full-season mentorship focused on video performance review, mental preparation, and strategic NCAA outreach.

Scope of Work

Our collaboration centered on three key pillars:

  • Video Performance Reviews: Weekly sessions following Owen’s games focused on identifying technical improvements, analyzing situational reads, and reinforcing strengths.

  • NCAA Outreach Strategy: Together, we crafted a comprehensive scouting tape from key season moments, which was used to communicate with prospective NCAA programs.

  • Mental Performance Coaching: As Owen's role expanded mid-season due to injury within the roster, we worked together on managing the increased pressure and expectations that came with it.

Rising to the Challenge

Midway through the season, Owen was called upon to step into a leadership role in net — a challenge for any goaltender, let alone one playing up an age group. Our sessions shifted focus to managing the mental side of that responsibility: composure, game prep, and handling pressure with maturity.

Owen not only met the moment — he exceeded it.

  • Season Record: 13-7-1

  • Save Percentage: .924

  • Goals Against Average: 2.00

  • Shutouts: 4

These numbers reflect not just talent, but composure and consistency — traits we focused on developing together.

Looking Ahead

Owen is now preparing for his upcoming OHL camp while setting the stage for another standout season at Northwood. With his experience, discipline, and sharpened game prep process, he’ll return as a leader and anchor for his team.

Austin has been a massive help to me this season. We meet after my games to review my film. Austin is really good helping with technical corrections and game prep. I feel really confident after our calls and prepared for my upcoming games. With his help I was able to excel this year playing underage in 18U against some of the best teams in the country.
